ERIC LINDROS SELECTED TO HHOF
Former St. Michael's Buzzer Eric Lindros (photo credit - Dan Nicholson/HHOF Images) has officially been announced as part of the Hockey Hall of Fame's Class of 2016 Inductees.
The London, Ontario native played one season as a 15-year old member of Buzzers during the 1988-89 Metro Junior 'B' Hockey League season. Lindros would record 67 points in 37 regular season games with the club and then went on a tear in the post-season, notching 23 goals and 48 points in just 27 games played as St. Michael's captured the Metro title and went on to win the OHA Sutherland Cup by defeating the Sarnia Bees and Niagara Falls Devils. Following the season, Lindros was selected by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds first overall in the 1989 OHL Priority Selection and went on to his illustrious Hall of Fame career.

Lanny McDonald, Chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame and John Davidson, Chairman of the Selection Committee, announced today that four individuals have been elected to Hockey Hall of Fame Honoured Membership, three in the Player Category and one in the Builder Category. The vote took place today at the annual meeting of the Selection Committee in Toronto.
Eric Lindros exemplified the power forward position throughout his 14 year NHL career. He won gold for Canada both at the Olympic Games and the Canada Cup and also averaged over a point a game in the NHL.
“I was very fortunate to have coaches, teammates, billets and parents who supported me throughout my career.” said Lindros. “It also takes a lot of luck to get to the NHL.”
